What Apprendly is

Apprendly builds AI role-play training for teams. You create a role-play from content you already have. Your team practises real conversations with a 3D AI actor, by voice, in the browser. You see what changed.

Apprendly AS was founded in Oslo in 2019. It started with 3D games for learning and launched Apprendly RolePlay in 2025. The product is built in Norway and hosted in Europe.

  • Not an LMS. RolePlay plugs into one via SCORM or cmi5/xAPI.

FAQ

Where is my data stored?
All data is stored on Scaleway's servers in France, within the European Union. Your data never leaves Europe.
What encryption do you use?
We use AES-256 encryption for data at rest and TLS 1.2+ for all data in transit. Encryption keys are managed with strict access controls.
Do you use my data to train AI models?
No, never. Customer data is never used to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI models. Your roleplay sessions and training data are used solely to deliver your service.
How long do you retain my data?
Data retention is customer-controlled. Our standard practice is to completely anonymize all session data after 30 or 90 days. You can also request immediate deletion at any time.
Do you support Single Sign-On (SSO)?
Yes, we support SSO. Auth0 supports SAML, OpenID Connect, and other enterprise identity protocols.
Are you GDPR compliant?
Yes, fully. We operate as a data processor under GDPR and implement all required technical and organizational measures. We maintain Data Processing Agreements with all customers and sub-processors.
Are you compliant with the EU AI Act?
Yes. Our AI systems are designed with transparency, fairness, and human oversight in accordance with the EU AI Act. Users are always informed they are interacting with AI.
What happens if there is a security incident?
We have established incident response procedures. In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected customers within 72 hours as required by GDPR, along with details of the incident and remediation steps taken.
Who are your sub-processors?
Our primary sub-processors are Scaleway (hosting and AI models, France), Auth0 (authentication, EU), and Stripe (payments). See our sub-processors page for full details.
Can I request deletion of my data?
Yes. Under GDPR, you have the right to erasure. You can request complete deletion of your data at any time by contacting us, and we will process your request promptly.

What is AI RolePlay Training?

Apprendly AI RolePlay Training uses artificial intelligence to simulate real-world scenarios for training purposes. Do I need any prior experience to use this platform?

Short answer? No. All it takes is a dash of passion. But it would be good if you bring curiosity, some extra time to explore and maybe a challenge you have. That way you can best test the platform and maybe yourself. Have fun!

What formats are supported for embedding RolePlays?

RolePlay supports SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004 4th Edition, and cmi5/xAPI packages for LMS embedding. Legacy Apprendly games support both xAPI, cmi5 as well as SCORM 2004 4th Edition.

How secure is my data?

Apprendly is hosted in Europe, on Scaleway's ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified infrastructure in France. Data is encrypted at rest with AES-256 and in transit with TLS 1.2+. Access is role-based and follows least privilege, with multi-factor authentication for administrative access. See the trust center for every control.

Does your platform offer collaboration features?

Currently RolePlay is offered as a single editor experience. We believe that it should be possible for a single person team or resource to develop high quality content fast. We might introduce collaboration features in the future.

Can I try Apprendly before purchasing?

What languages does Speak Naturally support?

Speak Naturally supports 90+ languages, with dialect support such as Flemish. Can I cancel my subscription anytime?

Yes, trials included. Contact us and we handle it. There are no long-term contracts or cancellation fees on standard plans. If you cancel, you keep access until the end of your current billing period. Enterprise terms follow your contract.
